Dear The Pink Palace,
We are delighted with the enthusiasm that the Japanese society has engulfed the concept of the paranormal and your efforts at The Pink Palace to enlighten the community. Your group has been working with our renowned writer and lecturer Dr. Paul and has made great strides moving forward.
Communication is of course very important, and it is challenging when there is a language barrier. As we work together to overcome this will bring us all closer into one united world. Words have meanings and there are meanings behind words. Sometimes words translate correctly and sometimes vaguer or at least seem that way when spoken in one’s native language after being translated. We thought that the simple word “paranormal” is a foundation for understanding.
What is paranormal? Is it just simply one idea such as a spotted ghost or a fortune told to the seeker? No, there is much more and very wide. It is anything beyond “normal”. That does not mean it is not real, only that it is yet to be proved. Anything explained scientifically in the world around us is considered normal and anything above, beyond or contrary is “para”. Thus, “paranormal” is science that is yet to be proved.
Some mistakenly think that there is an evil or a satanic attachment when science is questioned. That is not true! Here are some examples where societies throw away ideas only to find they were correct. There is evidence that brave explorers have crossed the earth throughout history. But as recently as a few hundred years ago scientists insisted the world was flat. The concept that the world was round was beyond science, thus paranormal. 5,000 years ago the Egyptians experimented with curing infection with molding bread and that cure was lost when its legitimacy was questioned. In the 1920s it was still paranormal to believe that mold on wheat could cure disease until penicillin was discovered.
In fact, all science before it was confirmed to be true was paranormal when it was in the investigation stage. Despite all their technology and wisdom of the current era, scientists are constantly changing and adjusting their beliefs as new evidence and wisdom is detected. This makes their prior normal beliefs in retrospect considered paranormal, and their new beliefs science. Then they gain more knowledge and science changes its viewpoint of prior science is classified that it was paranormal at the time.
The belief in God is indeed paranormal. To some this thought is shocking. We cannot prove that God does exist, nor can we prove that God does not exist, therefore it is not science. Yet the same religious organizations who spite the concept of the paranormal have faith in their own paranormal. There are many scientific study areas which have yet to be proven as science. Do the lines on the palm of the hand or date of birth indicate how a person’s life will evolve? Do aliens exist, have they visited us, do they walk among us? Is there a Bigfoot wandering around stomping in the woods yet to be found? Does heaven or hell exist? Does the soul itself exist and can it remain within our earthly plane to be a ghost or spiritual guide for those of us still living? Are there multiple dimensions as scientists debate that mathematically there should be? Perhaps there is an herb which if mixed properly could give immortal life? We don’t know the answers to these questions … yet. They could be a dream, an untruth, ramblings of a crazy person or … what will be the science in years to come.
A common misconception that people have is that studying what has yet to be proven is frightening or contrary to the evolution of our evolution. Yet in fact, it is how we have progressed within our knowledge with new thoughts and concepts which have lifted us up to be more than we were. The truly wise are open to the ideas that our common conceptions may not be fully factual of what may exist. Questioning and evolving science with reasonable speculation and investigation is the path to higher wisdom.
We should welcome all with open arms those that are willing to question what is currently considered science to further what proven science could be someday in the future. We are the “Science of Beyond Science!” Those that observe the world. Test ideas and beliefs. Find more facts and evidence to move ahead.
We are happy to include you with ourselves in the group of paranormal investigators who once were considered heretics including Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, Galileo Galilei, Francis Bacon, Michio Kaku, Johannes Kepler, André-Marie Ampère and millions of others. Their ideas at the time were highly criticized, yet today are considered normal science.
